Family Health
Published two times annually, Family Health’s goal is to promote healthy lifestyles and the prevention of ill health and injury to Canadian readers. All articles are written for the consumer by family physicians and other health care professionals; editorial content is endorsed by the College of Family Physicians of Canada. For these reasons, Family Health has achieved an excellent reputation as a source of reliable and practical health information. Family Health also effectively complements the health education role of Canada Safeway Limited pharmacists.
Topics focus on issues and concerns commonly seen by family physicians. The content and style of articles reflect the type of advice that family physicians might give their patients during office consultations. Wherever possible, a wellness-oriented, positive approach is used, ie “Keeping Your Back Healthy” rather than “Dealing with Back Pain.”
Family Health’s goal is to present a range of topics in each issue so that any family member, regardless of age, gender or income level, will find something of relevance and interest. Departments include:
Active Living | Pharmacy Care | Modern Living |
Adolescent Health | Family Medicine | Nutrition |
Childbirth | First Aid | Prevention |
Childhood | Growing Older | Vision |
Dental Health | Healthy Aging | Women’s and Reproductive Health |
As Family Health is directed to a broad audience, great care is taken to use a level and style of language that can be easily read and understood by most adults.
